Children’s House Montessori Program
Our Children’s House is designed to meet the needs of children 3 – 6 years old in a highly prepared, multi-age setting. The mornings are spent in a typical Montessori style classroom with lessons in each of the five curriculum areas: 1) Practical Life, 2) Sensorial, 3) Language Arts, 4) Mathematics, and 5) Cultural Arts. Children enrolled in our “Extended Day” program stay for lunch (brought from home), enjoy an afternoon recess and then the younger children lay down for nap/rest time. Older, developmentally ready children are invited to participate in our more in-depth “Cultural Arts” instruction. These children receive lessons in cooking, sewing, weaving, and a variety of themed Science and/or Cultural Arts Study. The children do long term research projects (at their ability level) in a wide array of subject areas. Recent studies have taken us on a “Trip Across America,” or through “The World’s Biomes” or “Native American Cultures,” just to name a few. Click here for Tuition and Fees information.
