KMCP’s Mission:<\/b><\/h3>\n

Kernersville Moravian Church Preschool (KMCP) provides a Montessori-inspired education in a Christian environment for children from ages 2 years to 6 years old. We celebrate the diversity that enriches our families and ensures that, regardless of race, creed, or economic background, each child has access to a high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.<\/p>\n

Goals & Objectives:<\/b><\/h3>\n

KMCP\u2019s goal is to provide a high-quality education that all children deserve. Our students are provided with the opportunity to succeed in an environment tailored to their unique and individual needs. The child is met at their specific developmental stage following Maria Montessori\u2019s curriculum. We believe that home<\/em><\/strong> is the child\u2019s foundation, and our goal is to form a partnership with our families to refine, foster, and watch our students flourish.<\/p>\n

W<\/b>hy Montessori?<\/b><\/h3>\n

We think your child is <\/span>special and we believe we have something <\/span>special to share with him or her here at our preschool. We have a small, family-like atmosphere that nurtures the \u201cWhole Child.\u201d\u00a0 We especially believe that our Montessori styled philosophy and methodology serves children in ways that traditional preschools and childcare centers cannot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reasons to Choose Montessori:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  • Classrooms are well-designed \u201cprepared environments\u201d where everything is child-sized, orderly, and clutter free; thus enabling children to develop an internal sense of order and build good habits (everything has a place and is always put back in its place) right from the start.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Children are free to respond to their natural curiosity and innate desire to learn about the world around them.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Generally, lessons are presented individually or in small groups, thus allowing each child to progress at his\/her own pace and rhythm.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We believe children learn best in an active, hands-on learning environment.\u00a0 Therefore, every lesson includes the use of some type of manipulative or \u2018Montessori Didactic Equipment\u201d which the child uses to literally construct his own knowledge and understanding of the intended concept.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We believe that \u2018making mistakes\u2019 is part of the learning process.\u00a0 As a matter of fact, self-assessment and self-correction are integral parts of the Montessori educational process. Montessori Lessons are designed to be self-correcting therefore allowing children to problem solve and correct their own mistakes.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
